The Gravel Loader is an functioning jetty located on the road to Bass Point.  The best side to dive is to the town side with care needed entering over shallow rocks.  An ideal dive as it is generally a well protected site from prevailing conditions. The more exposed east side has a boat ramp but be prepared for a longer swim to the end of the jetty.  Back to the west side; further off and laying parallel to the jetty can be found remnants of the previous jetty structure.

The end of the gravel loader provides the best fish life with large quantities of Old Maids, Puffers, Cuttlefish, Groper, Wrasse, Yellowtail, Bullseye as regulars.

At the end of the loader are 4 tie ups for ships, at the base of the southern most tie up is a chain that leads to a large anchor underwater. This is about 50m south of the Loader, out from the mid way point. Well worth looking for.
