The course goes over 4 days- usually two consecutive weekends. It starts bright and early at 8:30 finishing at approximately 4pm but this can change depending on class sizes.

Day One

Consists of theory work, the instructor, your fellow students and yourself all go through your PADI Open Water book, completing any Chapter reviews that you had trouble with and going over the basics of scuba diving as well as safety issues and procedures.

Day Two

You get to jump in the pool to try out scuba! Once you feel comfortable we begin to go through some basic skills that you need to be able to do comfortably and confidently. You will learn how to put your gear together and how to do your buddy checks with your class mates, you get to learn buoyancy control and how to enter the water with all your gear on, you also learn what to do in certain situations.

Day Three

You get to go in the ocean! The first dive is usually an orientation dive- just to get you used to being in the real thing. We get to show you our world! Depending on the conditions you will dive at either The Gravel loader or Bushrangers Bay located at Bass point. On your second dive we can begin to go through the skills completed previously in the pool.

Day Four

Your final day, on the first dive of the day you finish off the skills from the day before, hopefully they are all completed so you can spend your fourth dive doing what we love best- just diving!
