Made the drive down from the Central Coast on the 24 July 2010. Made to feel most welcome by friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Had great dive first up at the gutter, led by Mick. Even though I have clocked up nearly 100 dives I have never seen so much life, including many things for the first time! Second dive was at the same site using scooters, another first! Was a surreal experience once the basics were mastered. I highly recommend the shop, staff and site. Will be returning soon!

Had a great twinset/scooter dive 01/08/2010 out to The Island,a dive site accessible from The Gutter only by scooter. On the way out we found two rare sand eels, spiders,a large school of salmon. The dive was 110 mins long, down to 28 mtrs. The afternoon dives are always 'character building 'which means they are challenging but done in a very safe manner.Test your self and come along,it'll be fun.Mick's navigation will blow you away.
We were dive with you last weekend and I would like to say...that it was very well organize and I love to thanks dive master Craig for his great support what he gave to me during my dive. I can recomended him to all biggeners without confidenc. He will make you feel safe. CRAIG THANK YOU.

Big thank you to Vince and Naomi, our fantastic instructors for our recent Open Water accreditation. As first time divers, we were a little nervous to say the least. Thankfully our instructors demonstrated patience and understanding and provided excellent support, encouragement and guidance. My 14 year old son was learning also and as a mother I had to put complete and utter faith in Vince and Naomi in keeping him safe. Being a beginner myself, I knew there would be little I could do for him underwater.
They didn't let me down !!!
Looking forward to more exploring under the sea.
In gratitude,
Ann-marie : )

Completed my Open Water Licence not long ago at Shellharbour Scuba. Thankyou very much to our dive instructor Vince for teaching us all the skills we need, opening a doorway to the exciting underwater world !!. Throughout the whole course all the staff were helpful, patient, enthusiastic, professional and extremely knowledgable in both tuition and pointing me in the right direction to my new scuba equipment.
For an oportunity to learn a lifelong skill, being taught with latest and best quality equipment, by people who are passionate and immediately helpfull with all your scuba needs... I'd definately recommend Shellharbour Scuba. Thankyous all sooo much !! 8o))
Just a bit of an update.... had an amazing dive at the Gutter, Bass Point. Being my first late afternoon dive it was an exciting and new experience. Led by Mick (who undoubtably has an underwater map imprinted in his mind... even in darkness.. LOL) and riding on underwater scooters, we got to endure some spectacular sights including Weedy sea dragon, HUGE cuttlefish, a wobbeygong shark and much much more !!!
Thank you sooo much Mick for a brilliant underwater tour, definately a dive to remember. 8o))

My boyfriend is a huge fan or diving - so for his birthday, I booked him a scuba diving experience with Shell Harbour Scuba centre (I highly recommend this for a birthday gift - you can't go wrong with this gift!!). As for me, I am not a strong swimmer - and struggle even snorkelling. So as you can imagine - there was NO way I was prepared to dive. But after three hours of dwelling over whether or not I should give it a go, I decided to put my faith in Mick (the dive instructor) and give it a go! Was I scared....YES!! Was I passionate about diving at this point...NO!! But the challenge was there, I had to face my fears...
Mick was great - he gave me clear instructions on how to breathe under water...and once I took my first breath under water and realised just how easy it was, my anxiety stopped. My fears disappeared. I was under the ocean's peaceful trance...and I loved every moment of it! The experience was AMAZING! I didn't want to get out of the water! Mick held my hand through the entire experience - he is such an expert, I felt so safe in his care!
I was so lucky I got to see so many amazing creatures including an octopus, stingray, shark (just a Wobbegong...harmless really! haha) and a turtle. Words cannot explain how the diving experience made me feel. It was surreal...amazing....an 'out of this world' experience! And its now something that my boyfriend and I can do together...its lots of fun! Its always great to share an experience with your partner - especially one that doesn't involve talking!! LOL
So if you are a beginner like me...and scared to dive like I was...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put your fears aside and give it a go. You will NOT regret it. The team at Shell Harbour Scuba centre are amazing...experienced and so friendly! They will make you feel welcomed and relaxed!
Book in your diving experience NOW...nothing compares to it!
Am I now passionate about diving........YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to Naomi and Jamie for training us for our Open Water Certification recently. As complete beginners (never even snorkeled before) we were extremely nervous about it all but with their patience, knowledge and enthusiasm they gave us the skills and the confidence to achieve something I thought we would never achieve. We were breathing underwater in no time.
We would also like to thank Mick for all the assistance he gave us (and for the Port Jackson shark patting)
If you have never SCUBA dived before, book yourself in for the course, it truly is another world under there that everyone must see.
Thank you Shellharbour SCUBA Centre for opening up an exciting new world for us.
